Version: 7.0
Difficulty Level:

It's possible to convert a low resolution image (72 dpi) to a higher resolution print ready image (300 dpi). However, there are some consequences to this action.

In Photoshop, you can control the image resolution by opening the image and choosing Image on the menu bar and selecting Image Size... on the drop down menu. Make sure that the Resolution is measured in pixels/inch. Change the 72 dpi to 300 within the box. Make sure you un-check the Resample Image checkbox and marking the Constrain Proportions checkbox.

As a consequence of increasing the image's dpi, the image has shrunk. You will notice that new, smaller values have been calculated for the image Width and Height boxes. This is for a consequence of better image resolution for printing purposes.
